If you want to play a beautiful and boring racing arcade game that doesn’t put too much strain on your hardware, Horizon chase Turbo is just what you need. This game is an opportunity to indulge in a little nostalgia and remember such iconic projects as Turbo Challenge, Top Gear, Lotus, Out Run.
Horizon chase Turbo is a spectacular and hot driving race-arcade in retro-style, during which the player is offered to overcome very difficult routes “behind the wheel” of cars which were once produced and became iconic, as well as the cars which became famous thanks to the filmmakers and video game creators.
In this game, the developers have tried as much as possible in sufficient proportions to combine all the components that are important to the genre of racing arcade. Here there is a crazy speed, and driving chases, and difficult tasks. And all this is accompanied by an excellent and creating the right mood soundtrack.
Unlike many other racing games, Horizon chase Turbo doesn’t have a switchable camera mode. There is only one mode available to the player – “camera behind the car”. But this does not make the game any less exciting as the player controls the movement of the car and at the same time can enjoy the surrounding scenery. And they are quite interesting. After all, the race takes place in different parts of the globe. Therefore, you can “drive” in snow-covered Iceland, meet kangaroos in Australia, be impressed with magnificence of Taj Mahal in India.
But let us not forget that Horizon chase Turbo is not just a race, it is an arcade race. Therefore, to win in this game just one masterful driving is not enough, of course. On the way you need to still manage to collect a variety of items, without which there is no victory. In particular, these are gas cans (you can’t go far without gasoline), nitrous oxide nitro tanks and coins that you can’t win the SuperCup without getting some.
As in any racing arcade, each track is replete with a huge number of obstacles. However, it is, we can say, – solid huge obstacle. Surprises like unexpected bends, unexpected boulders in the middle of the track and other obstacles await the racer. But the most serious obstacle is your opponents controlled by artificial intellect.
Either the creators did not finalize it, or it is specially designed to spice up the game, but the artificial intelligence (AI) in this case behaves, at least, strangely. In particular, at the initial stage of the race and at the stage when several cars are trying to pass a narrow section of the track, the cars controlled by the AI can turn on nitro out of the blue. And if the player gets caught in the middle of such cars, it is unlikely to avoid an accident and loss of game progress in this race.
The player is presented with an impressive fleet of 35 vehicles, which become available gradually as the player achieves success in the races. Each vehicle has unique specifications.
The player is offered 6 modes: World Tour, Rookie Series, Summer Vibes, Tournaments, Endurance and Seasonal Event.
The graphical solution of the game is very original: the developers opted for beautiful, but not particularly detailed graphics. This allows the game to have quite democratic system requirements, and players can enjoy an excellent racing arcade game even on not the most “top-end” hardware.
